At the same time as the Leipzig Book Fair, Markus Dressen, Albrecht Gaebel and Sabine Schmid are organizing a meeting of independent publishers, together with a group of students from the HGB Leipzig. Based on the observation that prizes and awards can reflect power structures in all areas of publishing, we ask ourselves this year: How is the discussion about quality formulated? For example, do awards improve qualities? Who is talking about what in this context and what are the criteria?

It's a book itself also organizes a book competition for students. This year, as a jury, we have dealt with our own practice of judging. Unfortunately, the jury can only examine the books as a PDF beamed onto the wall, which is not ideal. We included these circumstances in the photographic presentation of the winners in the publication.

For the photosession we placed two beamer in our Jury-office and generated a "Life-Layout".

The eternal conflict between the desire to collect (or addiction?) And the desire for a free and flexible life without ballast drove me to this catalog, in which every single item in my household was wedged between two book covers. Now moving is pretty handy for me.

Südpol.
Season Campaign Design for the culture house Südpol, together with Vera Mattmann, varying formats, Risoprint, Lucerne, 2015–2017
Since Südpol is a place with an extremly diverse program, we made the look of the posters change constantly. The permanent element was the placement of SÜD and the POL. Of course this concept was kind of laborious, and we reduced it a little in the second season. The posters were all printed by ourselves on the in-house Risograph.
Keine Welt.

Follow the colour.
Orientation-system for Diploma-Rundgang, together with Anna Breit, vinyl film, offset-print (colour fan), HGB Leipzig, 2020
For the Diploma-Rundgang we wanted to create a non-hierarchical and simple system to guide the visitors through the building and the exhibition. Everybody relates a certain association to colors, they evoke emotions and it is easy to enter the space of personal perception or start a conversation. By equipping every single visitor with a decoding tool everyone is able to navigate autonomously through the exhibition. The overview plan is a large image taking over the building’s centre expanding on the floors of the entire institution.
